Parte da ideia de que o lugar da obra de arte não é neutro, afirmando-se sempre em relação direta com o espaço, o contexto e as vivências que o habitam. Concebida para a Sociedade de Instrução Guilherme Cossoul, a instalação estabelece um diálogo entre os limites físicos do espaço expositivo e o registo sonoro de um ensaio da Banda Juvenil local, traduzindo as ondas sonoras em padrões visuais e, posteriormente, tridimensionais que se expandem pelas paredes e pelo chão. O cartão faz o levantamento da linha, como uma protuberância e, por vezes, como um obstáculo. A sua modelação é executada por uma adição contínua, com tesselas atrás de tesselas, propondo no seu crescimento desmesurado, um confronto “corpo a corpo” com o espectador. Mas a relação participativa com o espectador não se restringe à sensação tangível da obra, muito pelo contrário, ela centra-se na construção colectiva e o que começou por ser incompleto, no fim, vê-se terminado.

It stems from the idea that the place of the artwork is not neutral, always asserting itself in direct relation to the space, context and experiences that inhabit it. Designed for the Guilherme Cossoul Instruction Society, the installation establishes a dialogue between the physical limits of the exhibition space and the sound recording of a rehearsal by the local Youth Band, translating sound waves into visual and, subsequently, three-dimensional patterns that expand across the walls and floor. The cardboard lifts the line, like a protuberance and, at times, like an obstacle. Its modelling is executed by continuous addition, with tesserae after tesserae, proposing, in its excessive growth, a ‘hand-to-hand’ confrontation with the viewer. But the participatory relationship with the viewer is not restricted to the tangible sensation of the work; on the contrary, it focuses on collective construction, and what began as incomplete is ultimately seen as finished.
