A obra consiste num manto suspenso formado por uma rede de argolas de arame revestidas com pasta de papel endurecida, unidas como correntes e pousadas parcialmente no solo. Funciona como uma homenagem simbólica às vítimas recentes de guerra, nomeadamente dos conflitos entre Ucrânia e Rússia e entre Israel e Palestina entre outros conflitos, refletindo a dimensão humana da destruição e o anonimato em que muitas vítimas acabam por ser esquecidas e substituídas por números. Cada argola representa uma vida perdida, e o caráter inacabado do manto — com argolas abertas nas extremidades — sugere a continuidade trágica desses números e a impossibilidade material de os representar na totalidade, ideia reforçada pelo título Sem Espaço para Todos. O revestimento com cinzas e papel queimado evoca destruição urbana, morte e caos, enquanto a possibilidade de tocar na obra, deixando vestígios nas mãos, pretende provocar reflexão e empatia pelas populações que nada fizeram e, no entanto, são aquelas que mais sofrem em conflitos armados.

The work consists of a suspended mantle formed by a network of wire rings coated with hardened paper paste, joined together like chains and partially resting on the ground. It serves as a symbolic tribute to recent victims of war, particularly those of the conflicts between Ukraine and Russia and between Israel and Palestine, among others, reflecting the human dimension of destruction and the anonymity in which many victims end up being forgotten and replaced by numbers. Each ring represents a lost life, and the unfinished nature of the mantle—with open rings at the ends—suggests the tragic continuity of these numbers and the material impossibility of representing them in their entirety, an idea reinforced by the title ‘No Room for Everyone’. The coating of ashes and burnt paper evokes urban destruction, death, and chaos, while the possibility of touching the work, leaving traces on one’s hands, aims to provoke reflection and empathy for populations who have done nothing wrong and yet suffer the most in armed conflicts.
